The Narrative Universe is a narrative-heavy mixed 20-sided, 100-sided tabletop role-playing system designed to reward creativity without interfering with unnecessary mechanics. The cornerstone of the NU TTRPG is the Fate Roll mechanic, a unique percentile roll that determines how the characters' actions impact the story. Will you encounter unforeseen consequences as a result of your successes or stumble backward into becoming heroes? You'll have to play to find out!
There are no racial mechanics in the NU TTRPG system, allowing you to create one-of-a-kind characters from your own imagination. The system is also modular, letting you add whatever degree of complexity you prefer to your games.
At its core, the NU TTRPG is about telling stories together and democratizes a lot of the decision-making process. Everyone at the table will be involved in creating the world of your game, and Fate Rolls will help you decide where your story goes.

The Narrative Universe TTRPG system is delightful to play! While some game mechanics are similar to DnD, the game is much lighter on rules and facilitates a more narrative playstyle. This base edition includes everything you need to learn, run, and play this system - including directions on how to create your own skills, spells, items, and more! Running games in NU is far less work intensive, and allows for the Narrator (GM) to work in player ideas easily and quickly. Besides all that, Kurtwise has a highly engaging and amusing writing style - the book is worth reading for that alone. I highly recommend picking up this Base Edition!
